During a video conference on Tuesday, the Yunnan Center for Disease Control and Prevention assessed post-disaster public health risks posed by the 7.9-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28.

It aimed to identify and evaluate potential public health threats to Yunnan's border regions, providing guidance for post-quake disease prevention and control efforts across the province.

The center committed to implementing multiple measures, including monitoring alerts, risk assessments and emergency preparedness, to safeguard the health of locals.

Ding Wenfei, director of the center, called for robust multi-channel surveillance and timely vaccinations to ensure rapid and effective responses to health threats in disaster-prone areas.
