Hollow village transformed into tourist hot spot in Yunnan
Thanks to the development of the tourism industry, a hollow village has turned into a hot spot for tourists in Malong district, Qujing city, Southwest China's Yunnan province.
A few years ago, affected by the migration of labor for work in big cities and the relocation of farmers to newly-built houses, more than 120 old houses were left idle, making Tuguachong village a "hollow village".
By renovating idle houses, the living environment in the village has been improved. Diversified business models and a variety of activities have attracted both domestic and international tourists.
The village has also attracted people living in surrounding areas for sightseeing and spending leisure time. "New villagers" have moved into old houses, activating the new engine of rural revitalization.
